The four month business development program at Bizdom U is broken down into four phases described below. It is demanding and rigorous, while at the same time entertaining and engaging. Our goal is to teach entrepreneurs what they really need to know about creating and running successful business enterprises. It mirrors the lifecycle of business development, starting with idea generation and ending with the nuances of business plan development. After completion of the four month business development program, entrepreneurs may present their business plan and request funding.
Our instructors are entrepreneurs and experienced professionals with “real-world” experience. We also provide many opportunities to engage in networking with successful entrepreneurs and others in the business community.
Our training facility is designed with state of the art technology including a projector for video presentations, an interactive white board, high definition monitors, and modular furniture that can be arranged to accommodate any setting, i.e. discussions or group projects. We also have workstations set up to allow our entrepreneurs to work on their business while getting real time feedback from our experts.
Phase 1: Idea Development
Culture is defined as the behaviors and beliefs of a group of people. Developing the right culture is imperative to business success and should be the foundation of any successful organization. This phase will give entrepreneurs experience and practice in both recognizing and implementing a successful culture. Here we introduce the Ism’s which are the guiding principles of successful companies. Once our entrepreneurs have established a solid foundation based on the principles of success, innovation and creativity, they are ready to apply what they’ve learned to generate and develop business ideas. By the completion of this phase, our entrepreneurs will have outlined the foundation of their business idea and business description.
Phase 2: Feasibility Assessment
In this phase, we primarily focus on taking an idea and breaking it down to determine the feasibility of the idea as a business. This is an interactive process whereby entrepreneurs spend a majority of their time presenting their research to the group and applying the feedback to make it better. They have the opportunity to work collaboratively in a professional environment, with access to phones and the internet, so they can perform research and further the development of their business concept. By the completion of this phase, our entrepreneurs will have determined the feasibility of their proposed business.
Phase 3: Product, Pricing & Profits
Armed with a feasible business concept, entrepreneurs will break their business down into the fundamental numbers. In particular, sales will focus on creating loyalty based strategies, designed to create a long-term relationship with the client and marketing will be examined from the viewpoint of maximizing returns on marketing dollars. They will also create assumptions and projections for the financial portion of the business plan, and analyze financial statements to make key business decisions. By the completion of this phase, our entrepreneurs will have developed their initial sales and marketing strategy and financial projections.
Phase 4: Here’s the Pitch, Preparing for Funding
At this point, we go from the training room to the board room. Entrepreneurs will finalize their business plans and proposals in preparation to request funding. Nothing clarifies like clarity; Entrepreneurs will focus on telling the story of their business in a way that is straightforward, direct and to the point. Upon successful completion of this endeavor, our entrepreneurs will see the successful launch of their business.
